Just some random thoughts from a Monday, on the road:

Downtown Cleveland is somewhat of a ghost town on Sunday night.  Although maybe that had to do more with the Browns losing and nobody having a reason to go out and celebrate.  As a Steelers fan, it was tough to watch the Sunday night game in that city.  At least I had the last laugh.  Today, we had a nice easy flight from Cleveland to Chicago.

The players spent some of that quality bonding time together after the game.  As well they should.  After not playing to their potential on Friday, they sure came back with great efforts Saturday and Sunday.

Congrats to Joakim Lindstrom on his call-up to Columbus!  With Lindstrom gone and Picard still out, Derek Dorsett joined Andrew Murray and Derek MacKenzie on the same line.  The line didn't miss a beat, in fact they scored the first goal 13 seconds into the game.  Funny how whoever is playing with MacKenzie right now is having success.

If you missed the interview with J.F. Labbe that I did on Friday, and re-ran on Sunday, you missed a good one.  It was great to hear him talk about how much he liked the city of Syracuse and that he would keep open the possibility of playing here again someday.  Nobody knows if that's ever going to happen, but it's nice to know that from Labbe's perspective, it could.

Pretty quiet here tonight.  Some of us will likely walk down to Shoeless Joe's sports bar and watch the Blue Jackets play Dallas.  Wouldn't want to miss the season debut of Joakim Lindstrom!
