Happy New Year Crunch fans!
It's great to be back in the bitter cold Northeast after a week of sunshine and beautiful beaches in Aruba. Actually, it really is terrific to be back home and gearing up for what promises to be a very exciting second half of the season.
Our partners in Columbus continue to prove that they have it right when it comes to developing young players while still striving to win on the NHL and AHL levels.
Andrew Murray and Joakim Lindstrom both deserved call-ups to Columbus and are getting their chances because of an assortment of injuries to Blue Jacket players. Their performances in Syracuse - - over an extended period of time - - earned them the right to wear NHL uniforms.
At the same time, Columbus realized that Gilbert Brule, a prospect with unlimited potential, needed to hone his game, play lots of minutes and regain a scoring touch he has had throughout his hockey career. The Blue Jackets sent Brule to the Crunch.
Let's hope 2008 is our best year ever!
