Columbus Assigns Goertzen to Syracuse

Syracuse, NY, (Tuesday, September 25, 2007)

The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned right wing Steven Goertzen to Syracuse.

Goertzen, 23, appeared in 60 games with the Crunch last season registering 9 goals, 7 assists and 120 penalty minutes. He also played in 7 games with Columbus last season, registering 10 penalty minutes. A native of Stony Plain, Alberta, Goertzen was Columbus’ 11th pick, 225th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch open their 14th AHL season on October 5 in Rochester. The club’s Quickway Opening Night is set for Saturday, October 13 vs. Hartford.
