The Syracuse Crunch will be holding auditions for the 2010-11 Mirabito Ice Girl squad on Saturday, September 11 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Auditions are open to the public and registration begins promptly at 10:30 AM.
The Crunch is looking for energetic, outgoing and physically fit people who have a passion for Syracuse Crunch hockey. The Mirabito Ice Girl squad plays a key role in enhancing the Crunch game experience by greeting fans, assisting with on-ice and in-stand promotions, and helping to ensure Crunch fans have an outstanding game experience.

Candidates will sit with judges for a brief interview to showcase their personality and be taught a short dance routine which they will be asked to perform. All performers must wear form-fitting clothing, in good taste, and sneakers or dance shoes. Make-up and hair must be performance ready. Applicants must be 18 years of age to audition. The Syracuse Crunch is seeking energetic and friendly people who are passionate about Syracuse Crunch hockey for the 2010-11 Mirabito Ice Girl squad.
The Mirabito Ice Girls are a high-energy team which supports the Crunch game presentation at all home games, as well as various community and team events.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old
- Physically fit/ athletic appearance
- Comfortable in front of audiences and large crowds
- Energetic and outgoing personality
- Flexible schedule – able to work nights and weekends
Qualities of a Mirabito Ice Girl are:
- Energetic, outgoing and friendly
- Team player
- Positive attitude and willingness to help out
- Dance/cheer experience a plus but not required
- Skating experience a plus, but not required
Responsibilities of a Mirabito Ice Girl include, but are not limited to:
- Greet fans as they enter the building
- Assist with in-arena promotions, giveaways, contests and intermission activities
- Energize the crowd throughout games
- Fan interaction
- Learn and perform short in-game routines
- Assist with special events as needed
Auditions will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, located at 701 East Genesee St. in the convention center on Saturday, September 11. Registration will begin promptly at 10:30 AM in the hallway outside the main room. There is parking available in the garage connected to the hotel.
Once you arrive, we will begin registration by giving you a number which will be used throughout the audition process.
After everyone has registered, the judges will begin the interview process by bringing candidates in for a panel interview. The interview process will last roughly ten minutes and will give applicants the opportunity to meet the judges face to face. Following interviews, all participants will be brought into the main room and taught a short dance routine which they will be asked to perform. Selections for the team will not be made solely on dance ability.
After a discussion by the judges, a list will be posted with applicants chosen for the 2010-11 Mirabito Ice Girl team. The audition process is not expected to go past 2 p.m.
