Syracuse, NY (June 21, 2012) -- The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have hired Dan D'Uva as their new radio play-by-play announcer. D'Uva will broadcast games on the Crunch's radio home, The Score 1260.

“As an organization we are thrilled to bring Dan on board,” said Crunch COO Jim Sarosy. “His enthusiasm and passion will be terrific assets to our team and we feel the fans will really enjoy listening to him.”

“An annual visit to a Fordham broadcasting class several years ago, and some brilliant questions from one of the students, led me to stay in touch with Dan D'Uva ever since, “ said Mike Emrick, lead NHL play-by-play announcer for NBC Sports. “D'Uva comes to the Crunch with a wealth of experience for someone so young. Having heard his work thru those years, I am happy for him that he and this energetic franchise have found one another.”

A native of Nutley, NJ, D'Uva has served as the play-by-play voice of the ECHL's Trenton Devils (2009-11) as well as the Chatham A's of the Cape Cod Baseball League (2003-08). In addition to his play-by-play expertise, D'Uva brings a wealth of broadcasting experience from his time with Bill Clement's Hockey World and the YES Network.

D'Uva attended both Syracuse University and Fordham University where he studied broadcast journalism and communications.

"I enjoyed so many formative experiences in Syracuse as a student, and I'm eager to reconnect with the city and the people,” said D'Uva. “We're going to have a lot of fun. Opening Night can't come soon enough.”

The Crunch will hold the 2012-13 season home opener on October 13 at the War Memorial Arena.
