Syracuse Crunch sign defenseman Reid McNeill to AHL contract

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse Crunch have signed defenseman Reid McNeill to an AHL contract for the 2017-18 season, general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.
 
McNeill, 25, appeared in 47 games with the Chicago Wolves last season posting eight points (2g, 6a), along with 46 penalty minutes and a plus-14 rating. He also skated in 14 contests with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins earning a goal and an assist.
 
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound blueliner has put up 33 points (6g, 27a) and a plus-43 rating in 237 career AHL games with the Wolves and Penguins from 2012 to 2017. McNeill also skated in 44 career ECHL games all with the Wheeling Nailers recording two goals and five assists.
 
Prior to his professional career, the London, Ontario native spent three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Barrie Colts and London Knights accumulating 23 points (7g, 16a) in 166 games.
 
McNeill was selected in the sixth round, 170th overall, by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2010 NHL Draft.
