Season Series: This is the first of ten meetings between the two teams. Last season, the Adirondack Phantoms and Syracuse Crunch faced off eight times, with the Crunch going 1-7-0. The Phantoms outscored the Crunch, 28-16, in those games. The Crunch's only win came on February 4, a 5-0 shutout at Adirondack.

Crunch At A Glance: The Crunch opened the 2011-12 season last night with a 5-4 overtime win over the defending champion Binghamton Senators. Kyle Palmieri recorded three points, including the game-winner 3:09 into the overtime period. New Crunch defenseman Bryan Rodney added two assists, and Troy Bodie scored his first goal as a member of the Crunch. Patrick Maroon, a former Phantom, recorded three points against his former team last season. Palmieri recorded five points in seven games last season against Adirondack.

Brayden Schenn, acquired from the Los Angeles Kings this summer, leads all Phantoms skaters with five points (3 goals, 2 assists), including three goals in last night's victory over Bridgeport.
