Season Series: This is the third of four meetings between the Crunch and the Lake Erie Monsters, and the third meeting in the past six days. The two teams split back-to-back games this past weekend. Syracuse won the first matchup of the season, 4-3, in overtime Friday night, with
Patrick Maroon scoring the game-winner. Lake Erie flipped the script Saturday night, beating the Crunch in overtime, 3-2, to win their first game of the season.
Crunch At A Glance: The Crunch's point streak to begin the season came to end Sunday against the Hershey Bears. Before their 7-0 loss, they recorded at least one point in each of their first five games. The seven goals were the most they've given up in a game this season. It was the first time since February 26
th of last season they allowed seven goals in a game. Syracuse lost two straight games for the first time all season.
Kyle Palmieri, the team's leading scorer, saw his goal streak end at five games in the loss Sunday. He's tied for sixth in the league with ten points and leads all scorers with eight goals. He leads all Crunch skaters with three goals against Lake Erie.

Monsters At A Glance: After going winless in their first six games, the Monsters have won two straight heading into Wednesday's game. They defeated the North Division-leading Toronto Marlies, 5-4, in overtime Sunday. It was their third straight overtime game and second overtime win of the season.
David van der Gulik leads the team with five assists and seven points. He recorded two assists during the weekend series against the Crunch. Adrian Foster leads all Monsters with two goals against Syracuse. Rookie Trevor Cann started both games against the Crunch, recording a 2.98 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage.
