Ducks Acquire Luca Caputi from Toronto in Exchange for Nicolas Deschamps Caputi expected to be in Crunch lineup tonight

Syracuse, NY (January 3, 2012) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Ducks have acquired left wing Luca Caputi in exchange for left wing Nicolas Deschamps.

Caputi, 23, has collected three points (2g, 1a) and 10 penalty minutes in 21 games this season for the Toronto Marlies. The Toronto, Ontario native has 152 career AHL games and 100 career AHL points (44g, 56a) with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Toronto. The 6'3'', 200 lb winger has seen action in 35 NHL contests, recording nine points (3g, 6a) with Pittsburgh and Toronto. Caputi was drafted in the fourth round, 111th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Deschamps recorded seven points (5g, 2a) in 31 games with the Crunch this season. He appeared in all 80 contests during the 2010-11 campaign recording 46 points (15g, 31a).

The Crunch take on the Toronto Marlies tonight at the Ricoh Coliseum at 7 p.m.

The Crunch are currently on a seven game road trip and will not return home to the War Memorial until January 20, 2012 when they host the Norfolk Admirals at the War Memorial Arena.
