Revenge Game
The Crunch last played Sunday at home against the Phantoms, and lost 4-3 in overtime. Syracuse held a 3-2 lead with under two minutes to play, but took four penalties in the final three minutes of the game and surrendered two late power play goals. Both of the Phantom's late goals came in five on three advantages.
Setting It Up
Forwards
Ondrej Palat and
Cory Conacher are top-two on the Crunch in assists this season. Palat has seven assists, and Conacher has six. Palat has had at least one assist in six of seven games this year, and both he and Conacher have two-multiple-assists games. Both players are in the top-twenty in the AHL in assists this season.
Getting Their Points
The Crunch haven't won in twelve days, but are one of two teams in the Eastern Conference to record points in six of their first seven games (Springfield Falcons are the other). The Crunch currently have ten points on the year, and are tied for the East division lead with Norfolk.
NHLers Lead The Way
The Phantoms have two young stars, Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier, that played for the Flyers for most of last year and may be on Philadelphia right now if there was no NHL Lockout. Schenn leads the Phantoms in points (9) and goals (4), and both players are tied for the team-lead in assists (5).
Schenn played well against the Crunch last game, contributing on all four Phantom goals. Couturier had assists on the last two Adirondack goals.
