Three-in-three shifts to Bridgeport to meet Sound Tigers

Game 23: Syracuse Crunch at Bridgeport Sound Tigers

The Syracuse Crunch (14-5-1-2) visit the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (10-11-0-1) Sunday afternoon at Webster Bank Arena, the first of two meetings this season witht he New York Islanders' AHL affiliate. Sunday's will be Syracuse's seventh road game out of its last eight overall. The Crunch suffered its second shootout loss of the season Saturday, 4-3, in Glens Falls. Syracuse's 31 points are still best in the East Division (three points better than Binghamton) but are second in the Eastern Conference (one point behind Springfield).

Bridgeport dropped a 3-1 decision in Albany Saturday and is winless in its last eight games (0-7-0-1). Overall, the Sound Tigers are third in the Northeast Division and their 21 points are 12th most in the Eastern Conference. Nino Niederreiter leads Bridgeport with 22 points (11g, 11a) while rookies Brock Nelson and Johan Sundstrom have compiled 16 and 12 points, respectively. Kevin Poulin has been the team's busiest goalie, appearing in 12 of the club's 20 games with a 6-5-1 record and a 3.37 goals-against average. Anders Nilsson has taken the last two losses and is 4-5 with a 3.28 goals-against average.
