Syracuse, NY (March 9, 2012) – J.F. Jacques' shootout goal lifted the Crunch to a 2-1 win over the Albany Devils tonight at the War Memorial Arena.
Peter Holland scored the Crunch's lone goal in regulation and 
Iiro Tarkki turned aside 30 of 31 shots and stopped two of Albany's four shooters in the shootout.
Both teams were held scoreless in the first frame. The Crunch put 11 shots on net, and held the Devils to a season- low three shots in the period.
Holland gave the Crunch a 1-0 lead with 11:11 remaining in the middle session. Holland ripped a shot from the left faceoff circle past Albany goaltender Keith Kinkaid. Holland's goal, his 19
th of the season, was assisted by 
Patrick Maroon and 
Matt Smaby.
The Crunch held on to their one goal lead until the final minute of regulation when Albany's Steve Zalewski broke though Crunch netminder 
Iiro Tarkki and tied the game with 36 seconds remaining.
Kyle Palmieri, Holland and Jacques scored in the tiebreaker to earn the Crunch a 2-1 victory.
