Syracuse, NY (April 2, 2012) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the American Hockey League has named
Peter Holland the Reebok/AHL Rookie of the month for March.
Holland, 21, collected 18 points (4g, 14a) and has a plus-12 rating in 15 games during the month of March. Holland is tied for fourth among AHL rookies in scoring with 58 points (22g, 36a). Holland's six-multi point efforts during the month of March contributed to the Crunch's climb from 14
th to seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
After playing 66 games for the Crunch this season, the Toronto native is second on the team in scoring. The Ducks drafted Holland in the first round, 15
th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The rookie made his NHL debut on November 5, 2011 and scored his first career NHL goal on November 11, 2011, while on recall to the Ducks.
In recognition of his achievement, Holland will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Crunch home game.
The Crunch's next home game is April 4 when they host the Binghamton Senators for a 7 p.m. tilt at the War Memorial.
