GLENS FALLS, N.Y. — In their final trip to Glens Falls, the Syracuse Crunch (29-12-7-0) suffered their worst loss of the season Tuesday, 10-0, to the Adirondack Flames (25-19-3-1), the most lopsided AHL game since 2002.
 
Adirondack steadily tallied goals throughout the game, scoring two in the first, four in the second, and four in the third. The Glens Falls Civic Center hadn't seen a team score 10 goals in one contest since 1993. Sven Baertschi led the way with his first hat trick, scoring three times against Allen York.
 
York entered the game midway through the second period after starter Kristers Gudlevskis allowed four goals on 13 shots. York played 32 minutes and allowed six goals on 14 shots. The 10 goals allowed are the most in the AHL this season, and the most allowed by Syracuse since a 10-3 loss in Charlotte Dec. 6, 2010.
 
The previous worst loss of the season by the Crunch was a 5-0 defeat against Binghamton on Jan. 16.
 
Turner Elson tallied two goals for the Flames and, outside of Baertschi's hat trick, the other five goals were all scored by different skaters. Max Reinhardt scored the game's opening tally, Markus Granlund, Mark Cundari and Drew Shore scored the next three in that order, and Ken Agostino scored the eighth of the contest. Elson tallied the seventh and 10th goals for Adirondack.
 
Four Flames collected three points in the game: Baertschi (3g), Cundari (1g, 2a), Agostino (1g, 2a) and Garnet Hathaway (3a). Nine players had at least two points. Cundari and Tyler Wotherspoon were a game-high plus-5.
 
Joni Ortio stopped 29 shots for his fourth shutout and 20th victory this season. Syracuse has suffered three shutouts this season. Gudlevskis endured his seventh loss of the year.
 
The Crunch play their next two games in Norfolk on Friday and Saturday against the Admirals. It will also be the final time Syracuse heads to Virginia as Anaheim will move its AHL affiliate to San Diego next season.
