CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Syracuse Crunch suffered their first shutout of the season in a 2-0 loss to the Charlotte Checkers tonight at Bojangles' Coliseum.
The loss moves the Crunch to 29-18-2-3 on the season and snaps a four-game point streak. Syracuse is now 1-1-0-0 in the four-game series against Charlotte.

Eddie Pasquale turned aside 24-of-25 shots, while Alex Nedeljkovic recorded the shutout with 23 saves. Both teams went 0-for-2 on the power play.
After a scoreless first period, the Checkers opened scoring 7:25 into the middle frame. Marcus Kruger pull the puck away from the end boards and backhanded a feed across the crease for Trevor Carrick to chip in from the bottom of the right circle.
With 1:02 remaining in the game, Jake Chelios sent the puck the length of the ice for an empty-netter with the help of Carrick.
The Crunch return to Bojangles' Coliseum to rematch the Checkers tomorrow at 3 p.m.
