Season Series: This is the second and final meeting between the Connecticut Whale and Syracuse Crunch this season. Connecticut won the first meeting, 3-1, February 7 on home ice. Jeff Woywitka led all skaters, finishing with two points (2a). Blake Parlett, Scott Tanski and Mats Zuccarello scored for the Whale. J.F. Jacques scored the lone goal for Syracuse. Jeff Deslauriers stopped 25 shots in the loss. Chad Johnson made 23 saves in the win.
 
Syracuse is 5-7-3 all-time against Connecticut.
 
Crunch at a Glance: Syracuse enters tonight's game eighth in the Eastern Conference, one point behind the seventh place Portland Pirates. The Crunch is also just one point ahead of the ninth place Manchester Monarchs. The Rochester Americans defeated the Crunch, 5-1, last night at the Blue Cross Arena. Marcus Foligno paced Rochester, recording three points (2g, 1a) in the win. Derek Whitmore, Nick Crawford and Corey Tropp finished with two points for the Americans. Mark Bell netted Syracuse's lone goal, with Riley Holzapfel and Dan Sexton recording assists. Igor Bobkov stopped 32 of 37 shots for his first career regulation loss.
 
Patrick Maroon enters tonight's game leading the Crunch with 73 points (32g, 41a). He's third in the league, two points behind the AHL MVP Cory Conacher for second in the league. Maroon also leads the team in assists. Sexton is one of four players with 40 or more points, and is third on the team with 30 assists.

Whale at a Glance: Connecticut enters tonight's game sixth in the Eastern Conference, four points ahead of the Portland Pirates. The Manchester Monarchs defeated the Connecticut Whale, 5-4, in a shootout last night at the XL Center Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Chad Johnson stopped 34 shots through regulation, and shut out Portland's first two shooters. But Marc-Andre Cliche and Patrick Mullen scored in the third and fourth rounds, respectively, to defeat the Whale. Five different Whale skaters recorded two points in the loss.
 
Kris Newbury leads Connecticut with 63 points (25g, 38a) in 64 games. He's also the team leader in goals. Jonathan Audy-Marchessault leads the Whale with 40 assists. Newbury and Audy-Marchessault are tied for 11th in the league in points. Johnson leads the team with 22 wins.
