Game 46: Syracuse Crunch (26-13-2-4) at Adirondack Phantomns (18-24-2-1)

Less than 24 hours after a stunning 4-3 loss to Albany, the Syracuse Crunch are back on the ice at 3 p.m. Sunday in Glens Falls to complete a three-in-three weekend and wrap the season series with the Adirondack Phantoms. Syracuse has points in each of the first seven matchups (4-0-1-2) against the Flyers' AHL affiliate and won the most recent contest, Friday at the War Memorial, a 4-2 victory in which Syracuse built a 2-0 lead, surrendered the tying goals, but rebounded to score the last two and snap a two-game losing skid. Saturday vs. the Devils, the Crunch again built a 2-0 lead and gave it up, but could not recover, losing in regulation for the first time when leading after two periods (20-1-2-0).

Where they Stand
Adirondack has lost three straight and was shut out two games in a row (3-0 in Wilkes-Barre and 3-0 vs. Binghamton) before losing to Syracuse Friday, 4-2. The Phantoms, who did not play Saturday, have three wins in their last ten games (3-6-1-0) and are 18-24-2-1 overall. Their 39 points are last in the North Division and the Eastern Conference; only the Western Conference's Hamilton Bulldogs have fewer points (38).
The Crunch remain in fourth place in the Eastern Conference at 26-13-2-4, 58 points, two points behind Binghamton and Springfield for the conference lead. The Crunch has seven points in the last ten games but has one win in the last four contests. Syracuse has the most road wins of any AHL team (16-5-0-2) but has lost its last two games away from home, following a six-game road win streak.
Scouting Report
The Phantoms lost their two top scorers, Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier (who combined for 61 points), to the NHL and are now led by defenseman Danny Syvret (3g-20a-23pts), forward Jason Akeson (7g-15a-22pts) and left wing Harry Zolnierczyk (9g-8a-17pts). Goaltender Scott Munroe has played in 23 games with a 9-11-0 record, 2.65 goals-against average, .913 save percentage and one shutout. Veteran Brian Boucher started Friday's game in Syracuse, and is 2-4-0 in six apperances since joining the Phantoms Jan. 17.
Tyler Johnson scored two goals Saturday, his 21st and team-leading 22nd of the season, his first markers since Jan. 4 in Norfolk. Snapping a streak of 11 games without a goal, Johnson is tied for the league lead among active players. His 41 points are tops on the Crunch and tied for seventh among active skaters. Vlad Namestnikov scored his third goal of the season Saturday, his first since Jan. 5 in Norfolk. Syracuse was 0-for-3 on the power play Saturday and has not scored with the man advantage in the last three games.
The Crunch have added forward
Alex Hutchings from the ECHLFlorida Everblades. The 22 year old has appeared in three games for Syracuse this season with no points.
