Game 10: Syracuse Crunch (4-4-1-0) vs. Norfolk Admirals (4-6-0-0)7 p.m., War Memorial Arena, Syracuse, N.Y.
The Crunch start their second three-in-three of the season against former East division rival, Norfolk, with games tonight and tomorrow at the War Memorial. This is the first matchup between the Crunch and Admirals after Syracuse moved to the Northeast division at the start of the season. The Crunch spent the past five seasons as divsion opponents of the Admirals. The Crunch went 2-6 against Norfolk last season, winning the first two games of the season series, then losing four straight. Syracuse lost all four home games to the Admirals last season.

AHL Live AppLast Time OutA season-high six goals propelled the Crunch to a bounce-back victory, 6-3, Saturday in Binghamton. Syracuse improved to 2-0 against its local rival. Eleven Crunch players earned at least one point, and six scored goals:
Jonathan Marchessault,
Slater Koekkoek,
Cody Kunyk,
Joel Vermin,
Dalton Smith and
Cedric Paquette. Multi-point performers were Vermin (1g, 1a), Paquette (1g, 1a) and
Jake Dotchin (2a). Marchessault was a game-high plus-4. Vermin, the game's first star, notched his first career game-winning goal.Â
After a scoreless first frame, Syracuse took a 2-0 lead in the second and snapped an 0-for-20 power-play drought on Koekkoek's first pro goal. Binghamton tied the game, 2-2, but Syracuse out-gunned the Sens in the third, 4-1, the team's most-productive frame of the season.
Kristers Gudlevskis stopped 25 of 28 Binghamton shots, improving to 3-2-0 with a .908 save percentage and 2.76 goals-against average.
The last time Syracuse scored six goals in a game was against the Toronto Marlies, Apr. 12. The last time Syracuse scored six or more goals against the Senators was Feb. 15, 2013 in a 7-1 victory. The last time Syracuse followed a shutout loss with a six-goal effort was Jan. 25 and 26, 2013, losing to Binghamton in a shootout, 1-0, and winning against St. John's, 6-3.
Paquette nets first two NHL goalsCedric Paquette became the third Tampa Bay Lightning player in history to score his first two NHL goals in the same game, when he netted two Thusday night in a 5-2 Lightning win over Calgary. Â Paquette was called up from Syracuse on Nov. 4. He has seven points (4G, 3A) in five games for the Crunch this season, which is second-best on the team. Paquette has played in seven career NHL games, two last season, and five this season. Â In his two games with the Lightning last season, Paquette recorded his first NHL point, an assist, Apr. 11 against the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 3-2 Lightning win.Â
Rookie Trio light up SensFor the first time this season, Syracuse's three rookie defensemen all recorded points in the same contest. Saturday in Binghamton,
Slater Koekkoek scored his first pro goal, a power-play marker in the second. He has three points in eight games. Koekkoek's 16 shots are tied with
Nikita Nesterov for the most by a Crunch defenseman.
Jake Dotchin notched two helpers Saturday, assisting on
Jonathan Marchessault and
Dalton Smith goals. Dotchin has three assists in eight games.Â
Dylan Blujus has two assists in seven games after providing the setup for Koekkoek's goal.
Newcomers contribute to Crunch offenseSlater Koekkoek became the fifth Crunch newcomer to score a goal this season, joining
Mike Blunden,
Matt Corrente,
Cody Kunyk and
Jonathan Drouin (now with the Lightning). Blunden and Kunyk each have two goals and are tied for fourth on the Crunch with four points. The goals for Koekkoek, Kunyk and Drouin are their first as pros.
Joel Vermin, who leads all Crunch rookies with three goals, scored once in eight Crunch games last year. Vermin has a total of six points for the Crunch, which is third overall.Â

Scouting the Admirals Norfolk currently sits at 4-6-0-0, tied for last in the Eastern Conference. The Admirals have won two of their last three games, but lost five of seven contests to start the season. Norfolk lost to St. John's in the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs last season. The Admirals, the Anaheim Ducks affiliate, are led by points leaders Chris Wagner (5g, 2a) and Brad Winchester( 3g, 4a). Wagner leads Norfolk in goals despite only playing in six of the Admiral's ten games. Wagner has 7 points( 4g, 3a) in 16 career games against the Crunch. Winchester is second on the team in both goals and assists. Winchester, a nine-year AHL veteran, scored a goal in his only game against Syracuse back in 2005-06. Goalie Jason LaBarbera leads the Admirals in wins with three.
Special TeamsAfter a 1-for-6 effort against the Binghamton Senators, Syracuse is 3-for-39 on the power play, 28th in the league (7.7%).
Slater Koekkoek scored the Crunch's third power-play goal of the season, and his first career goal against the Sens. Norfolk is 4-for-38 on the power-play this season, 25th in the league (10.5%). The Crunch are 27-for-34 on the penalty kill, 23rd in the league (79.4%). The Admirals are 39-for-47 on the PK and ranked 19th in the league (83.0%). The Crunch have given up the most shorthanded goals (4) in the league this season.Â
