The Crunch travel to Albany today for their second meeting of the season with the Devils. After a promising start to a three-in-three weekend with a 5-1 win Friday over Binghamton, the Crunch lost to Utica Saturday, 4-2, allowing four Comets goals in the last 6:13. Saturday the Devils won their fifth consecutive game, defeating Rochester 2-1.
The Crunch remain fourth in the North Division (.575) while the Devils rank second (.738), seventh and third in the Eastern Conference, respectively.

Jeff Tambellini scored power-play goals to help Syracuse build a 2-0 lead, but the Utica Comets surged in the game's final minutes and seized a 4-2 win from the Crunch. Syracuse had been 6-0 when leading after two periods and Utica had been winless in seven games when trailing after two periods. 
Kristers Gudlevskis took the loss, surrendering three goals on 32 shots, and was selected the game's No. 1 star. Before the three Comets strikes on him in the third (the fourth was into an empty net), Gudlevskis had allowed one goal in eight periods. His goals-against average stands at 2.01, sixth in the AHL, and his save percentage is .935, tied for third. 
Scouting the DevilsThe Devils have one regulation loss since they defeated the Crunch, 4-3, Nov. 6. Rookie Matt Lorito leads the Devils in scoring with 21 points, third among AHL rookies and tied for seventh overall. He ranks second in the AHL for both power-play points (14) and power-play assists (12). Mike Sislo leads the AHL in power-play goals, nine, adding three at even strength and one shorthanded.
Veteran Yann Danis (13-2-3, 1.76) has started all but three games for Albany, leading the AHL in wins and minutes (1091) and posting the conference's best goals-against average. Scott Wedgewood, who's yet to play an AHL game this season because of injury, was added to Albany's roster after a 39-save win for the ECHL's Adirondack Thunder Friday.
