SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Marko Dano's overtime goal lifted the Falcons over the Crunch, 2-1, Saturday at the War Memorial, beating Syracuse goalie Allen York in his AHL season debut. Crunch center Mike Angelidis provided the lone tally for Syracuse in the third period to force overtime.
 
Dano's left-circle shot snuck over York's right shoulder at the 4:13 mark of the extra session during three-on-three hockey. Former Crunch winger Dana Tyrell earned the assist. Recalled from the ECHL's Florida Everblades Feb. 2, the 26-year-old York stopped 34 of 36 shots.
 
Despite outshooting Springfield, 18-8, in the opening period, and 40-36 overall, the Falcons tallied the opening goal 7:11 into the first period. Allen York came out of his crease toward the right post and Falcons forward Ryan Craig wrapped around at the goal line and slipped it under York. Assists went to Yann Sauve and Michael Chaput.
 
Springfield killed off three Crunch power plays in the first period, including a 1:10's worth of 5-on-3. York held Springfield off the board in the second stanza with 14 stops to keep the score 1-0 heading into the third.
 
The Crunch struck back with 7:23 remaining in regulation. Mike Angelidis' 15th goal of the season, the team's third power play goal this week, tied the score, 1-1. Counter-clockwise cycling from Joey Mormina to Slater Koekkoek reached Tanner Richard in the left wing corner. Richard's quick stick to Angelidis between the circles created the captain's one-time bid that squeaked through Oscar Dansk's legs. Syracuse finished 1-for-5 on the man advantage and has power-play goals in four of the last six games.

Carter Ashton, making his Crunch debut, totaled two shots. The Lightning's 2009 first-round pick was acquired from Toronto Friday.

In his second start against the Crunch this season, Springfield netminder Oscar Dansk recorded a season-high 39 saves. Dansk also bested the Crunch Oct. 26, earning his first AHL win in a 5-1 Falcons victory.
 
Syracuse has points in its last seven home games, a season high, and seven consecutive overall. The team starts a three-game road trip Tuesday against the Adirondack Flames.
