The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled forward
Tanner Richard from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League today, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced. In addition, the Lightning have reassigned forward
Joel Vermin to the Crunch.
Richard, 6-foot, 192 pounds, has played in 22 games with the Crunch this season, recording seven goals and 17 points along with 19 penalty minutes. He ranks fourth on Syracuse for points, tied for fourth for goals and tied for fifth for assists. Richard has played in 236 career AHL games, all with the Crunch, notching 33 goals and 129 points. He has yet to make his NHL debut.
The Markham, Ontario native was drafted by Tampa Bay in the third round, 71st overall, of the 2012 NHL Draft.
Vermin, 23, has skated in eight games with the Lightning this season, recording two assists. He has appeared in 14 NHL games, all with the Bolts during the previous two seasons.
Vermin was originally drafted by the Lightning in the seventh round, 186th overall, at the 2013 NHL Draft.
