Mark Powell joined the Syracuse Crunch prior to the 2005-06 season as the strength and conditioning coach. He is responsible for day-to-day physical development plans for all players and develops therapeutic exercise routines for injured players.
Powell holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS) and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (ATC). Powell retired in 2018 after 31 years as head athletic trainer at East Syracuse Minoa High School and is a member of the ESM Athletic Hall Of Fame.
Powell earned his Bachelor of Science in physical education teaching and coaching from SUNY at Buffalo and his Master of Science in athletic training and physical education from Indiana State University. He resides in Camillus with his wife, Kathleen and has three grown children, Liz, Kelly and Jackson.
