Season Series: This is the first of two meetings between the Crunch and Marlies this season. The Crunch topped the Marlies in a pair of exhibition games this season by a combined score of 8-1. Last year, the team's split their four game season series, 2-2-0. Syracuse went 1-1 at Ricoh Coliseum. Patrick Maroon led all Crunch skaters with four points (1g, 3a) in four games. Marlies defenseman Simon Gysbers led all Toronto skaters with three points (1g, 2a) in four games.
 
The Crunch lead the all-time series with the Marlies, 21-16-1.
 
Crunch At A Glance: The Crunch ended 2011 on a high note, defeating the Binghamton Senators, 6-2, Saturday at Broom County Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Kyle Palmieri, Patrick Maroon and Kyle Cumiskey powered the offense, each recording three points in the win. Peter Holland chipped in with two goals, and goalie Jeff Deslauriers finished with 37 saves for his fifth win of the season. The game also featured a combined 169 penalty minutes between the two rivals.
 
Maroon enters tonight's game the team leader in points (36) and assists (22). He's currently seventh in the league in scoring. Kyle Palmieri leads the team with 19 goals, and is tied for first in the league with Norfolk's Cory Conacher. Iiro Tarkki leads the team with nine wins, and his 638 saves are good for third in the league.
