Preview

Game 10: Syracuse Crunch at Hamilton Bulldogs
7:30 p.m. at Bell Centre, Montreal, QC

Syracuse continues its first trip to Canada this regular season Friday facing the Hamilton Bulldogs for the second time in three days. The Crunch shut out the Bulldogs Wednesday 3-0 at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton. Riku Helenius recorded his second win of the year as Dmitry Korobov, J.T. Wyman and Richard Panik provided the offense. The Crunch lead the East Division at 6-1-1-1 and are tied for the Eastern Conference lead with Springfield at 14 points. At 4-3-1-1, Hamilton ranks 10th in the Western Conference and fourth in the Northeast Division. Friday's game is one of two the Bulldogs are slated to play at their parent club's home, the Bell Centre in Montreal. It will be the first game for the Crunch in an NHL venue since the franchise was affiliated with Columbus Blue Jackets. A Tampa Bay Lightning AHL affiliate has not played at an NHL arena in Jon Cooper's tenure as head coach.

Jon Cooper's 100th
Crunch head coach Jon Cooper reached the 100-win plateau Wednesday, improving his AHL regular-season record to 100-45-20. Cooper was 39-26-15 with Norfolk in 2010-11 and 55-18-3 (with 28 straight wins to finish the regular season) in 2011-12. Hershey's Mark French holds the record for fastest to the century mark, earning  his 100th AHL win in his 147th game.

Korobov's First
Rookie defenseman Dmitry Korobov scored his first goal of the season Wednesday, his first in North American pro hockey. In three seasons in the KHL, the 23-year-old totaled two goals and 19 assists. Korobov leads the Crunch in plus/minus (+5) and now has two points on the season in seven games.

Familiar Faces
J.T. Wyman scored against his former team Wednesday, his second goal of the season. Wyman began his pro career in Hamilton in 2008 after finishing his college career at Dartmouth. Over the next three seasons, Wyman totaled 85 points in a Bulldogs uniform, also making his NHL debut in 2009-10. Wyman is one of three Crunch players who at one time called Hamilton home. Defenseman J.P. Cote played 334 regular season games for the Bulldogs from 2003 to 2008, winning the Calder Cup in 2007 and playing eight games in the NHL for Montreal in 2005-06. Eric Neilson played 38 games for Hamilton in 2009-10. Crunch GM Julien BriseBois worked for the Montreal Canadiens organization for nine seasons, including three as Hamilton's general manager, leading the Bulldogs to a 137-78-25 record.
